Legendary carnatic musician and playback singer K J Yesudas has been selected for the first 'Harivarasanam Award' instituted by Travancore Devasom Board manages famous Sabarimala Temple.
The award is conferred on the veteran singer for his contribution and devotion to the field of arts. Along with Sabarimala, Travancore Devasom Board controls many temples located in the south of Kerala.
K J Yesudas' famous song 'Harivarasanam…' song is played in the temple of Sabarimala every day. "This is a great honour that any singer could get," says the singer always!
