The singer is reportedly getting nearly £9.5million for her stint.
Simon Cowell broke the news in New York as he also confirmed LA Reid will return. Cowell remains, too.
But Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul are replaced by Britney and a second new signing, Disney star Demi Lovato.
Axed host Steve Jones’s replacement is yet to be announced but Simon has said it will be TWO people – both American.
First auditions kick off in a fortnight’s time, in Texas.
