Call it the dearth of good offers or her move to make her presence felt in Kollywood again, Sadaa has now chosen to do an item song in Sundar C’s next with Vishal.
A source close to the director tells us that the song on Sadaa and Vishal will be picturised in Chennai this weekend. Why would the actress, who has a several projects lined up in other south Indian languages, make such a move?
When we quizzed Sadaa about this, she defended her move, saying, “I’ve been very against doing one song in a film, and have rejected several offers in the past. When I got a call from this production house for a special song, I told them as well that I won’t be interested. But they told me that it’s not a typical item number and that I will be shaking a leg with the lead hero. They way they explained the concept sounded good, and I decided to take up the offer.”
Sadaa, who debuted with a superhit film (‘Jayam’) in Kollywood, and went on to pair opposite some of the top stars including Vikram (‘Anniyan’) and Madhavan (‘Aithiree’), hasn’t had a hit film here in a while. Her last film, P Vasu’s ‘Puli Vesham’, on which she had pinned all her hopes, failed to deliver at the BO as well.
Is Sadaa being wise in lapping any offer that comes her way in Kollywood? Time will tell!
