It looks like Sridevi’s life has come a full circle. The actress, who started out as a child artist in the south Indian film industry, has shared screen space with Jayalalithaa in her early days. And now, many years later, the two recently met at the centenary celebrations of Indian cinema, held in Chennai. Sridevi was honoured for her contribution to south Indian cinema by Jayalalithaa, and a source tells us that Sri was heard reminiscing about the good old days when she had the opportunity to act with the now Chief Minister.
The source tells us, “Sridevi has acted with Jayalalithaa in about five films and it was a wonderful experience for her. As a child artist, she had done several films in which she played Muruga, and one of her favourite films is Aadhi Parasakthi. Jayalalithaa played the titular role, and it was directed by KS Gopalakrishnan. Back then, the film had a silver jubilee run. Now, almost after 40 years, the two actresses met and it was a joyous occasion for Sri.”
