A few months back it was reported that Vishal Bhardawaj is keen to make Chetan Bhagat’s ‘2 States’ into a feature film with Shah Rukh Khan. However, due to reasons unknown and probably SRK’s busy schedule, there are reports that the film is now being made with Ranbir Kapoor in the lead.
Producer Sajid Nadiadwala has obtained the rights of the novel and has now collaborated with Karan Johar to make the film at the earliest. SRK’s leading lady was either to be Priyanka Chopra or Asin but now that Ranbir is playing the lead, there are even further speculations of who will be the female lead now. No names have been finalized yet and Ranbir too has still to give his nod for the film.
The film will be a love story between a south Indian girl and a Punjabi boy and so Ranbir is absolutely fit to play the role, he being a Punjabi.
