It was made public that Sonam Kapoor has bagged Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ opposite Farhan Akhtar where he will don the renowned athlete’s avatar, Sonam on theother side will play his love interest in the film.
The film is based on Milkha Singh’s dust to dawn story which commences in the era of pre independence period and stretches up to the post independence stage. In order to authenticate and feel the era of struggle, the director has asked both his stars to live like they are living in that age, so that they can exemplify the required feelings.
He has especially given strict instructions to Sonam Kapoor and has asked her to shun all the modern day luxuries like air conditioner, mobile phones and laptops and start feeling her character that is of a village girl set in the backdrop of the era that ranges from1930’s to 1950’s.
Before this Sonam was also asked to shun mobile and internet and communicate via hand written letters with her co-star Shahid Kapoor to get into the skin of their characters in their film ‘Mausam’ that tanked despite of all the hype and promotions.
