New Delhi: Winners of the prestigious 59th National Film Awards have been decided and their names would be revealed by chairpersons of the jury on March 7, 2012,
officials of the Information and Broadcasting ministry said lately.
Officials said while the awards will be declared on March 7, the award ceremony would be held on May 3.
For feature films the names of the award winners would be
declared by Rohini Hattangady, who was the chairperson of the Feature Films Jury (Central Panel).
Ramesh Sharma, the chairperson of the Non-Feature films jury and Vijaya Mulay, who chaired the jury on the Best Writing on Cinema would reveal the names of other award winners officials said.
Best Actress: Vidya Balan for “The Dirty Picture”
Best Actor: Girish Kulkarni for “Deool” (Marathi)
Best Child Actor: Partho Gupte for “Stanley Ka Dabba” and the “Chillar Party” group
Best Director: Gurvinder Singh for “Anhe Ghore Da Daan”
Best Feature Film: “Byari” (Kannada) and “Deool” (Marathi)
Best Hindi Film: I Am
Best Malayalam film: Indian Rupee
Best Bengali Film: Ranjana Ami Aar Ashbo Na
Best Children’s Film: Chillar Party
Indira Gandhi award for Best First Film of a Director: Thiagarajan Kumararaja for “Aranya Kandam”
Best Lyrics: Amitabh Bhattacharya for “I Am”
Best Choreography: Bosco-Caesar for “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara”
Best Special Effects: Ra.One
Best Costumes: Neharika Khan for “The Dirty Picture” and Neeta Lulla for “Bal Gandharva” (Marathi)
Best Screenplay: Vikas Bahl and Nitish Tiwari for “Chillar Party”
Best Adapted Screenplay writer: Avinash Deshpande
Best Dialogues: Girish Kulkarni
Best Editing: Praveen K.L for “Aranya Kandam”
Best Male Playback Singer: Anand Bhate for “Bal Ghandarve”
Best Female Playback Singer: Rupa Ganguly
Best Book: Anirudha Bhattacharjee and Balaji Vittal for “RD Burman The Man, The Music”
Best Film Critic: Manoj P Pujari
