Composer G V Prakash Kumar is among the top highly-paid in the industry now.
He is charging a very big sum that is only next to A R Rahman and Harris Jayaraj.
The composer started his career as an independent composer in the industry with the film ‘Veyil’ and went on to make hit films and his career graph never looked a downward trend. His compositions for ‘Madrasapattinam’, ‘Dieva Thirumagal’ and ‘Mayakkam Enna’ took him to the position that he is now unreachable to small producers.
When quizzed about that the accusations on him that he signs films only with big producers, the composer said, “No, it is not true. I do take projects of small producers. But, as I have already been continuously working with some directors it looks that I’m doing films of certain production houses.”
Industry sources say that even Yuvan Shankar Raja charges less than G V Prakash. Sources close to the composer say he charges something around Rs. 1.5 Crore per film.
The composer, who is only 25 years, is the nephew of Oscar winner ‘Isai Puyal’ A R Rahman. Rahman is the highly paid composers in India.
