Vidya Balan gets best actress National Award

Viday Balan won the best actress National Award for her performance in The Dirty Picture, it was announced here on Wednesday.
Director Onir’s I AM was declared the best Hindi film at the 59th National Awards announced here Wednesday, while Amitabh Bhattacharya won the best lyrics award for the song Agar Zindagi in the film.
Ashvin Kumar’s Inshallah on football and Arun Chadha’s Mindscape about the differently abled’s need for intimacy were jointly named the best film on social issues at the 59th National Awards announced here Wednesday.
Inshallah is the tale of a Kashmiri child’s dream to play football in Brazil and how life in a silent war gets in the way. Mindscape reveals the differently abled’s need for intimacy, sexuality and identity.
Mindscape has been produced by Public Service Broadcasting Trust, while Inshallah is Kumar’s own production.
Bollywood choreographers Bosco-Ceaser won the National Award for directing popular song Senorita in the film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.
The road-trip movie, directed by Zoya Akhtar, stars Abhay Deol, Hrithik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar. The song featured the three actors and they even sang it.
This is the first National Award for the duo, who have been choreographing since 2000. Their first film was Mission Kashmir.
Marathi film Deeol, about the dilemma of educated youth in villages, and Kannada movie Byari, about Muslim girls’ trials and tribulations in the Beary community, shared the best feature film award at the 59th National Awards.
Byari  is the first film in the Beary language, spoken in coastal Karnataka. It is about how girls in the small Muslim Beary community are mistreated in the name of marriage and divorce.
