When Ekta Kapoor was positioning her keenly awaited movie Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum even higher than The Dirty Picture in terms of an all-India sale value, she wasn’t wrong! The distribution rights of the comedy film, which features Tusshar Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, Sarah Jane Dias and Neha Sharma in the leads, have been sold for a whopping amount.
A noted trade consultant says, “There is definite curiosity around the film for various reasons – it’s a comedy, the original was a hit, Tusshar and Riteish are tested brands in the youth comic space, and above all, the Balaji factor.” He adds, “That it’s a naughty and raunchy comedy definitely helps in making it a hot proposition.”
The all-India distribution rights of Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum have been sold for a super kool price of 21.6 cr to a Nagpur-based distributor, who is believed to have recently acquired Rowdy Rathore and Bol Bachchan. The music and satellite rights were also pre-sold.
The film Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum is slated for an August 2 release. The CEO of Balaji Motion Pictures, Tanuj Garg says, “The sequel is even more crazy and uninhibited than the original! Get ready for a mad ride!”
