After Rajinikanth, if there is any south Indian actor that people in Kerala would want to see as part of Malayalam cinema, it is Ilayathalapathy Vijay.
So, when film buffs came across a poster of a yet-to-be-made movie, they were overjoyed to see that it featured Vijay in the lead role.
The film, Karuthan, is set to be directed by Masthan Mujeeb Khan and scripted by S N Swamy and news about the film vent viral on social media when it featured Vijay as the lead actor. A source from the production house informs us that the team is in talk to rope in the Tamil star for the same. However, the film may not take off on time as the team will have to wait for Vijay’s dates, adds the source.
When contacted, the actor’s spokesperson says, “Vijay has not committed to any Malayalam film. He will only be concentrating on Kollywood.” While speculations hover over whether or not this piece of news is authentic, S N Swamy says, “The proposal was put forward, but I personally don’t think Vijay would want to take up any Malayalam film as he is busy for the next two years with a handful of Tamil films.”
