Director Magizh Thirumeni is one happy man. After all, his film with Arun Vijay, Thadaiyara Thaakka, has fetched him both BO collection and critical praise.
“I’m really glad the film’s managed to attract both the audience and the critics,” says Magizh.
Tell him the industry talk is that the characterization of his villains (who are brothers) is inspired by from Kaakha Kaakha, and Magizh laughs, “The only thing common between the two films is that the villains are siblings. When I made Mundhinam Partheney, people told me the movie was inspired by Gautham Menon’s style of filmmaking. I’ve assisted him, and that’s probably why people associate my style with his.”
Magizh is currently working on the casting for his next flick. “It will be about a suave undercover cop. Like TT, this will also be an action entertainer, but will deal with the lives of upper middle class people. I’m in talks with a couple of actors, and will make the announcement soon,” he says, adding that he’d like to work with Arun Vijay again in the future too.
