After the Pongal release Thunivu, actor Ajith will star in AK 62 (tentative title). The movie's director, Vignesh Shivan, made an official announcement in March of this year. The production company supporting AK 62 and Anirudh's songs is Lyca Productions. There has been rumour for a time that Ponniyin Selvan: Part One (PS1) breakout actress Trisha is in talks to portray the female protagonist in AK 62.
Raangi, Trisha's second movie with Lyca Productions after Ponniyin Selvan [Part 2 of which is scheduled for release in 2023], will be released on December 30. The actress was asked to comment on AK-62 during the same, and this is what she had to say: "I am unable to confirm if it is occurring or not. I can't say this because I'm an actress; it's not my place. Everyone will eventually be aware of the films I am making and those I am not."
