Varisu movie review

At one point in Varisu, specifically during the song Thee Thalapathy, the movie ceases to exist and is replaced by Vijay's showreel. The editing turns out to be garish and morphs into a collage of Vijay's slo-mo videos that appears to be a YouTube fan tribute video. Another time, the movie fully switches over to a subplot about protecting a girl from being sold into slavery, and in many cases, it turns into a meta-comedy. Without missing a beat, songs and battles show up exactly where you expect them to. But everything that is meant to be startling succeeds because it is done with conviction. It's ridiculous, stupid, and irrational... but entertaining.

Srimanthudu, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, Atharintiki Daaredi, and every other version of that one story about the succession of the reluctant son—who ends up being the sole hope to save the empire/family—are all incorporated into the film Varisu. The screenplay for the movie directed by Vamshi Paidipally reads like it was generated by a machine that was fed the following keywords: "Vijay mass moments," "four fights," "extravagant songs," "masala," "mom-son feeling," and "Jagapathi Babu." It includes all the traditional elements of a mainstream family comedy, where the hero resolves everyone's issues while fending off a single external threat.

The focus of this movie, however, is more on the moments it tries to create inside the tenuous narrative than it is the plot itself. Varisu has no qualms about appealing to its fans. It's all one giant stage, and boy does the hero dance well on it! It's also encouraging to see Vijay make a comedic comeback. Despite being few and brief, his sequences with Yogi Babu are the movie's strongest point. It establishes the mood for what follows. Yogi Babu is not present, so Vijay has the responsibility of criticising everyone in his vicinity. The film is released from the constraints of logic by the self-reflexive humour. It shows a good deal of self-awareness by making fun of itself before anyone else. It appears that Vamshi wrote.Taking into account every critique that may be levelled at the movie, the director converted each one into a medal of honour that the movie displays with pride.
