Kiran Bedi was the very first IPS officer who adorned the high office with her honest and tough approach in the service of the nation. After her retirement she became a social activist and recently she gave her active participation in the movement led by Gandhian Anna Hazare, who launched a crusade against corruption.
The tough cop Ms. Bedi was recently in Chennai, surprisingly for a film function! It is for Parthipan’s upcoming movie ‘Vitthagan’ that Kiran Bedi was here, to launch the trailer of the movie in which Parthipan plays an honest police officer. The trailer was received by director Murugadoss and Parthipan’s actress-daughter Keerthana played the perfect host of the function. ‘Vitthagan’ features Parthipan and Poorna in the lead and is produced by Manickam Narayanan of Seventh Channel.
After a longtime Kiran Bedi is participating in a film event, and before this she had participated in a Telugu movie ‘Karthavyam’ launch twenty years ago. ‘Karthavyam’ featured Vijayashanthi as a tough and honest police officer and the movie was dubbed in Tamil also as ‘Vyjayanthi IPS’!
