Mumbai: Bollywood actress Simran Sood, arrested on charge of kidnapping an aspiring film producer Karan Kakkar in connection with the murder case of New Delhi-based businessman Arun Kumar Tikku, is now under the police scanner for her involvement in match fixing.
Investigating officers in the case recovered her photographs from a few international cricketers. According to police, Karan had relations with bookies and he was involved in cricket betting.
Bookies call him by the name of ‘Prince’. Simran was spotted, along with Karan, at several parties, where well-known cricketers were present.
Prime accused Vijay Palande is her so-called brother, police sources said. Amboli Police had registered a case of kidnapping of Karan against Simran, Vijay Palande, Manoj Jadhav and Ganesh Shinde last Friday.
Karan’s brother Hanish Kakkad recognised the accused after their arrest in the Tikku murder case. “We have no clue about their involvement in match-fixing as Karan and Simran did not discuss anything with us,” said Hanish.
Police is also probing whether Simran killed Karan with the help of Palande and Jadhav.During police interrogation, accused Palande confessed that he murdered Karan for his BMW car and dumped his body near Bombay Goa highway. A team of police is now searching for Karan’s body.
On Sunday, police found a BMW belonging to Karan in Pune. The police claim it was parked in a lane by Palande and Shinde, who were arrested last week in connection with the murder of Tikku. (UNI)
