This has perhaps been one of the most talked-about projects in Tollywood in recent times. With director Sukumar and superstar Mahesh Babu being part of the project, many leading ladies had their eyes set on it.
The buzz was that actress Tamannaah was being considered for the role initially, but Kajal is the lucky one.
“I am excited to be a part of this project. I have worked with Sukumar and Mahesh Babu before and share a good rapport with them,” says Kajal. Though hesitant to give away too many details about the film, the actress does spout the oft-heard line that her role in the film is different from what she has done before. “It’s a very intelligent and sensible film,” she says.
Quiz her about the project’s various controversies and pat comes her reply, “I am not sure what you are referring to. I have been shooting out of the country for some time and since I have come back, I have been busy travelling within the country.” The actress is also slowly but steadily inching her way up in B-town. She’s currently shooting for her next Hindi film, SpecialChabbis, in which she plays the love interest to Akshay Kumar. The film, which is based on a 1987 heist, has Kajal as the only woman among 26 men, but she has no qualms about that. “I have always wanted to work with Akshay and I liked the script, everything worked out well in the film,” she says.
So is she aiming for the top in Bollywood too? “There is no limit to wanting and I am a very ambitious person, but I want to be a part of good cinema. I loved the roles that have been written for me so far and want to balance my work in all the industries I am a part of,” says Kajal.
And so, with her kitty filled with films, it appears that the actor has no time for anything else in her life. “Right now, I am in a happy space and satisfied with how things are going. I am extremely busy, which also means that there’s no time for love. I don’t have a man in my life right now and marriage is a long way off,” she signs off.
