Though Shankar's first choice was Vikram after a deep contemplation, he decided on Suriya considering his popularity in Tamil and Telugu film industries.
Suresh and Bala, the SuBa duo, have completed penning the screenplay and dialogues for this film and with everything ready, Suriya has allotted the dates he had kept for Hari. It is now said that Singam 2 will commence only after Shankar completes this film.

Suriya and Shankar – a heady combination!
Director Shankar's next project is the most expected in the tinsel town. The director had announced sometime ago that he is penning the story.
The buzz now is that writer duo Suresh and Bala, known as SuBa, are working on the screenplay and dialogues for this project.
It is said that Shankar is eying Suriya for this film and had called him for a discussion. We are also told that the star is impressed with the script and wanting to work with the ace director has decided to give him the dates that were saved for Hari's Singam 2.
In all probability, we may get an official confirmation about this project, very soon. Suriya and Shankar is really a heady combination!
