Director Siva explains why Ajith's 'Veeram' shoot cancelled

A recent stunt sequence that was being shot in Hyderabad for Ajith's Veeram was abruptly stopped after an altercation developed between the stunt co-ordinator of the film, Silva and the stunt union of Hyderabad. The shoot was cancelled as a result.

Talking to us, stunt co-ordinator Silva clarifies, "When we shoot for an action sequence in Hyderabad, we have to use a proportion of their stunt artistes too. But they wanted me to use only their artistes and not a single assistant of mine. Although we agreed to use some of the artiste as per agreement, they insisted on leaving out all my assistants.

" He added, "I can only work to my best with my own team. How can I work with total strangers, who aren't familiar with my style of working? This is not the first time they are doing this. A similar incident happened during the shoot of Venkat Prabhu's Biriyani and the shooting got cancelled back then too. Our producers face the heat as an outcome and the dates get really messed up.

" Veeram stars Ajith, Tamannah, Vidharth and Santhanam in critical roles and Devi Sri Prasad is doing the music for the film. Directed by Siva of Siruthai fam, the project is being funded by Vijaya Productions.
